Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)
Jammu and Kashmir Development Finance Corporation Ltd. (JKDFC) recognizes that inclusive and sustainable development is an integral part of its mandate as a Central Public Sector Enterprise. In addition to promoting industrial and entrepreneurial growth JKDFC remains committed to contributing meaningfully to social welfare through structured Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. In compliance with the provisions of the Companies Act 2013 and applicable CSR Rules the Corporation undertakes need-based and impact-oriented CSR activities focusing on healthcare education innovation sanitation and disaster relief, etc. JKDFC prioritizes projects that strengthen public institutions address regional challenges and improve access to essential services in the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and UT of Ladakh.
Year-wise CSR Initiatives
For Year 2025–2026
Strengthening Healthcare Services in High-Altitude and Remote Regions In FY 2025–26 JKDFC donated 50 units of trolley stretchers and wheelchairs each to Sonam Norboo Memorial (SNM) Hospital Leh at a total cost of ₹25.54 lakh. SNM Hospital is a healthcare institution serving the UT of Ladakh region which is characterized by difficult terrain extreme climatic conditions and limited medical accessibility. The donated equipment will enhance patient handling emergency preparedness and in-patient care services particularly during emergencies and high patient inflow. This initiative reflects JKDFCs sensitivity to region-specific healthcare challenges and its commitment to equitable healthcare access in geographically remote areas.
For Year 2024-2025
Improvement of Patient Mobility and Hospital Facilities For FY 2024–25 JKDFC allocated ₹16.29 lakh towards the donation of 40 units of stretchers and wheelchairs each to Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu. The initiative aimed at improving patient mobility within hospital premises facilitating emergency response and enhancing overall hospital efficiency. The availability of essential mobility equipment improves patient comfort accessibility for persons with reduced mobility and operational readiness of healthcare institutions.
For Year 2023-2024
Strengthening Diagnostic and Medical Infrastructure In FY 2023–24 JKDFC contributed ₹14.00 lakh towards the donation of medical equipment to the Postgraduate Department of Pathology Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar, UT of Jammu & Kashmir. The donated equipment enhanced laboratory and diagnostic capabilities enabling accurate and timely disease detection. This initiative supported improved patient care strengthened tertiary healthcare services and contributed to medical education and research. The project reflects JKDFC’s focus on strengthening institutional healthcare infrastructure for long-term public benefit.
For Year 2022-2023
Strengthening Sanitation Infrastructure and Public Hygiene During FY 2022–23 JKDFC provided ₹13.55 lakh to Sulabh International Social Service Organization for the supply installation and commissioning of portable toilets at Jammu & Srinagar. This initiative addressed critical sanitation gaps particularly in public and underserved areas by improving access to safe and hygienic toilet facilities. The project contributed to improved public health outcomes enhanced cleanliness and better hygiene standards. By investing in sanitation infrastructure JKDFC reinforced its commitment to preventive healthcare and community well-being.
For Year 2021-2022
Promotion of Innovation Research and Technical Education In FY 2021–22 JKDFC allocated ₹47.57 lakh towards the establishment of a Tinkering Lab at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu as CSR contribution. The Tinkering Lab was established to promote experiential learning innovation and hands-on exposure to science and engineering concepts. The facility enables students to design experiment and develop prototypes using modern tools and technologies thereby nurturing creativity problem-solving abilities and technical skills. The initiative aligns with national priorities on innovation skill development and strengthening the higher education ecosystem.
For Year 2020-2021
Contribution towards National Emergency Relief during COVID-19 Pandemic During FY 2020–21 JKDFC contributed ₹100.00 lakh to the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations (PM CARES) Fund towards CSR. This contribution was made in the backdrop of the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic which placed immense pressure on public health systems and livelihoods across the country. The funds supported the Government of India’s efforts in strengthening healthcare infrastructure procuring critical medical equipment and providing emergency relief to affected populations. Through this initiative JKDFC demonstrated its commitment to national solidarity and responsible governance during a major public health crisis.
